Many an Assassin's Creed fan remains skeptical, fearing the supposed details regarding Infinity's status as a live-service platform will pull the series even further away from its roots. Ubisoft responded to the Infinity news by confirming that an ambitious new project is in development with its Montréal and Québec studios at the helm however, the publisher stopped short of corroborating anything concrete about the planned content model. A Bloomberg report from earlier this summer claimed AC Infinity would eventually launch in the form of an evolving online platform.
While fans worry over Assassin's Creed Infinity 's reported live-service nature, a new rumor alleges Ubisoft will continue to develop regular, open-world AC titles alongside Infinity.
